Learning Discipleship--Adults

SUNDAY SCHOOL EACH WEEK AT 10:30 A.M.

(during the time of the Creative Worship Service while children are in Sunday School)

This class meets to study religious faith as expressed in our daily living.  The class relies upon leadership of various adults followed by free flowing discussion.  Often a text or book is used to shape the topic over a 4 to 6 week period.  The primary teacher is Dr. Pat Porterfield.

BIBLE STUDY EACH WEDNESDAY MORNING AT 10:00 A.M.

This in-depth study of scripture is lead by the pastor, Rev. Dr. Frank Proctor.    The current topic being studied is an analysis of the short letters written to early Christian Churches by St. Paul.

DISCIPLES WOMEN MEET THE THIRD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH AT 10:00 A.M.

This group of women meet regularly to study scripture, mission work of the Disciples of Christ, to plan fellowship events and to raise funds to support world missionary work. This traditional study group was formerly called “The Christian Women’s Fellowship.” The leader for this year, 2010, is Phyllis Parsons.

“GIRL FRIENDS BIBLE STUDY” MEETS WEEKLY ON MONDAY EVENINGS AT 7:00 P.M.

This group of younger women are studying the Bible while at the same time providing women a good way to make girlfriend connections—building new relationships and strengthening old ones. They take turns meeting in the homes of its participants. They do not usually meet on the fourth week of the month. Once a month they have a special theme night to go along with their discussions. Sample theme nights have been “a Spa Night,” “Choco-Holics Night,” “Luau Night” and “Candle Night.”   For more information you can see “Girl Friends Bible Study” on Facebook or contact Aerin Kaye or Casey Hulbert at secretary@stcharleschristianchurch.org

“GOOD OLE GUYS & GALS” MEETS FOR BREAKFAST THE FIRST TUESDAY AT 8:30 A.M.

This group of mostly retired adults meets for breakfast at JJ’s Restaurant, 1215 S. Duchesne, St. Charles.   They share good news and life concerns to support each other and to care for the church. Everyone orders from the menu and is responsible for their own meal cost.
